Paul Hardcastle is a British composer, musician, producer, songwriter, radio presenter, and multi-instrumentalist. Born on December 10, 1957, in London England, Hardcastle developed an interest in music in his youth. Specifically, he was passionate about keyboards which ultimately landed him a spot as a keyboard player for the band Direct Drive. With Direct Drive, Hardcastle scored a couple of hits on the British underground dance scene. Unfortunately, the band broke up which gave him the chance to diversify on his own. Hardcastle scored his first major hit in 1985 with the single 19. He gained wider success with the launch of his Jazzmasters album in 1993, which peaked at No.1 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz Chart.

Hardcastle continues to grace us with his music to date despite having enjoyed over three decades of success. He has traditionally been associated with the smooth jazz genre. However, he is a flexible artist who has released dance-, R&B-, and jazz-influenced albums. Hardcastle’s most recent album is Hardcastle X, launched in February 2022. It bears all of the artist’s signature rhythms and flourishes, so you know you are going to love it. Hardcastle has always stayed true to his own art, something that his followers have come to enjoy.
